Privacy policy

Lemon HQ is run by Oxygne Media Ltd (“we”, “us”), a company registered in England and Wales. We are the data controller for the personal data described here. Questions about this policy go to hello@lemonhq.app.
The short version: we use your data to run your household’s budget, nothing else. We don’t sell it, we don’t show you ads based on your transactions, and your bank data never goes to advertisers.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address and, if you sign in with Google, your Google profile name and picture.
- Bank data you connect: account names and types, balances and transactions, read through a regulated open-banking provider. We never see or store your bank password, and we cannot move money.
- What you add: budgets, categories, notes, receipts and documents you upload, and the people you invite to your household.
- Questions you ask the assistant: the messages you send and the answers it gives, including through WhatsApp or Telegram if you link them.
- Billing: your plan and subscription status. Card details are handled by our payment provider; we never see them.
- Usage: pages viewed and features used, measured without cookies, and technical logs (IP address, device and browser) kept for security.

We do not use your financial data to train AI models.
Who helps us run Lemon HQ
These providers process data on our behalf, only to run the service:
- Render: hosting and database (servers in Frankfurt, Germany)
- Cloudflare: file storage for receipts and documents
- GoCardless: regulated open-banking connection to your bank
- Google: sign-in with Google, and AI processing
- OpenAI: AI processing for categorisation, receipts and the assistant
- Langfuse: monitoring the quality of AI answers
- Polar: subscriptions and payments
- Resend: sending email
- OpenPanel: cookieless website and product analytics
- Composio: only if you connect another app (such as your email) to the assistant
- Meta and TikTok: ad measurement on this website, only if you accept cookies. If you do, we also tell Meta from our servers when you sign up, start a trial or subscribe, with your email address hashed so Meta can match it but not read it
Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where data leaves the UK we rely on an adequacy decision or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum to protect it.
Your household
Everyone you invite to a household can see that household’s connected accounts, transactions, categories and budget. Only invite people you are happy to share that with. You can remove members or leave a household at any time.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. If you delete your account, we delete your data within 30 days, apart from billing records we must keep for tax purposes (usually six years). Security logs are kept for up to 90 days.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, export or delete your data, or object to how we use it. Most of this you can do yourself: export to CSV from the app, or delete your account in settings. For anything else, email support@lemonhq.app and we will reply within a month.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies
The app uses strictly necessary cookies to keep you signed in and remember your preferences. The website measures visits without cookies.
If you accept cookies on this website, we also load the Meta and TikTok pixels so we can see which adverts bring people here. They set their own cookies. If you decline, they are never loaded. To change your mind, clear this site’s data in your browser and choose again.
Children
Lemon HQ is for adults. You must be 18 or over to create an account.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will tell you by email or in the app before it takes effect.
